How to Set an Expiration Date for a Shared Link

TERA allows you to limit how long a shared link remains available by setting an expiration date.

This is especially helpful when sharing temporary project materials, confidential documents, or time-sensitive information.

An expiration date limits the period during which a link can be used.

Once the configured expiration condition is reached, recipients should no longer be able to access the content through that link.

Link expiration does not automatically delete the original file from your storage.

Setting an Expiration Date

  1. Sign in to TERA.

  2. Navigate to the file or folder you want to share.

3. Open the sharing options.

  4. Select the link-sharing feature.

  5. Find the expiration setting.

  6. Choose the appropriate expiration date.

  7. Save the settings.

  8. Copy and share the link.

Client Deliverables: Give clients access to files during a defined review period.

Temporary Projects: Allow external collaborators to access documents while a project is active.

Confidential Reports: Limit how long sensitive materials remain accessible through a particular link.

Event Materials: Share documents that are only relevant during a specific event.

What Happens After Expiration?

The expired link should no longer grant access to the shared content.

The original file remains subject to its normal storage and deletion settings.

If access is still required, the owner must review the available link-management options.
